FAQ

What is vermiculite?

Vermiculite is a naturally accruing moisture containing sheet silicate mineral that is formed by weathering and heated water as sediments in the earth’s crust.

How is exfoliated vermiculite formed?

Exfoliated vermiculite is commonly formed by heating raw vermiculite to approximately 700 to 850 degrees Celsius. The heat causes the moisture between the layers to evaporate and forces the layers apart resulting in rapid expansion to multiple times the original volume resembling worm-like silvery grey flakes.

What are the main physical properties of vermiculite?

Exfoliated vermiculite possesses many unique properties that are highly beneficial to agriculture, horticulture, nursery and greenhouse, construction and chemical industries.
